The School District & the “I Care” Parent Engagement Curriculum Model
School districts and their representatives: the superintendent, administrative staff, and school board are charged with establishing the vision, expectations, guidelines, systems, resources, and oversight that meet state and national standards and result in children and youth who are equipped to make a positive contribution to society. The “I Care” Parent Engagement Curriculum Model provides a research-based system that integrates parent involvement, character development, and community involvement. The Curriculum addresses the parent engagement standards and measures imposed on school districts.
Role of the School District
- Superintendent and school board become informed about and demonstrate consistent, visible, and active support for “I Care”
- Superintendent communicate with building principals about their monthly data
- Approach the Chamber of Commerce and local business, industry, and service organizations about forming an “I Care” Community Partnership
